1961 Akerboom 38 – Watchet Harbour Marina to Burton Waters, Lincoln

This relatively rare 1961 dutch steel cruiser made by Akerboom was collected from Watchet harbour Marina in Somerset, near Minehead and we delivered it to the new owner at Burton Waters in Lincoln.  Although not exceptionally wide with a beam of only 11 feet, we still required an escort pilot car to accompany us at first light out of Watchet to Bridgewater where we joined the M5.  Without an escort vehicle this leg of the journey could potentially be quite dangerous and it is something that we always have to consider, even though the Police may not necessarily request a self escort.  A lovely boat with classic lines.
